Isaac Dunne: Intricate Rituals
Thursday, June 6th 2019 at 6:00pmDorsa Brevia is proud to present Intricate Rituals, an exhibition of new works on paper by Isaac Dunne. On view are five watercolors depicting men in ambiguous moments of contact. Dunne’s soft rendering on delicate materials gestures toward the uncertain possibility of tenderness within masculine tropes and the desperate pleasures of a fugitive touch. Dunne appropriates the imagery in these watercolors from YouTube videos of men doing partner stretches. The images reveal the way that violence, affection, domination and submission all circulate freely within the performance of masculinity. Dunne is from Astoria, OR and currently lives and works in Brooklyn. This is his first show in Portland.
